Capture an entire webpage, not just the visible screen

A normal screenshot stops at the edge of the window. This tool loads the page in a real browser, measures its full height and captures the whole document as one image, up to 20,000 pixels tall. Switch Full page off when you only want the first screen, and pick a desktop, tablet or mobile viewport to see how the page lays out at each size.

The rendering happens on our servers in the UK, so there is nothing to install and no permissions to grant. That also makes it a clean capture: the page is loaded fresh, with no logged-in state, no extensions and none of your own cookies. Cookie banners are hidden by default, and ads and trackers can be blocked from the advanced options.

Pages built with JavaScript frameworks render as they would for a visitor: the browser runs the scripts, waits for the page to settle and then captures it. Lazy-loaded images and content that animates in are given time to appear. If a page needs longer, add a capture delay.

When a capture fails or looks wrong

• Pages behind a login capture as the login page: the free tool sends no cookies or credentials. The API can, as described in the authenticated screenshots guide.
• Images or sections missing: the page loads them as you scroll or after a delay. Add a capture delay of 2 or 5 seconds and try again.
• The image stops partway down: the page is taller than 20,000 pixels, or it keeps loading more as it scrolls. Switch Full page off, or capture a narrower section with the API.
• A challenge page, an error or a blank image: some sites block automated browsers or visitors from data centres. Nothing on our side can capture those reliably, and the tool does not try to get round them.
• Something still covering the page: cookie banners are hidden, not accepted, and some pop-ups are not recognised. Block ads and trackers in the advanced options, or hide specific elements with the API.

Automating website screenshots

This tool is a front end for Ironfang Render, the rendering API that takes the same captures from one HTTP request. Developers use it for:

• archiving how a page looked on a date

Limits and privacy

Each IP address can take 20 captures an hour, and a page is captured at most once a minute from our network however many people ask. Captures are held in memory for up to an hour so a repeat of the same request is instant, and are not stored beyond that. Images carry a small Ironfang Render mark, as they do on the free API plan; paid plans have none.
