Pricing
One account covers every Ironfang product. Each month starts with a free allowance on every meter. Switch on Pay as you go and usage past the allowances is charged at graduated rates, within a monthly limit you choose, on one itemised invoice.

Paid usage is switched on, paused and limited in the portal by someone with billing rights on the account.

Band edges count every unit in the month, the free ones included. Prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT. These rates price usage from 1 September 2026.

How billing works
Pay as you go needs a monthly usage limit for the account, set before VAT, and you can set a limit for any product as well. Paid work is admitted only while every limit it falls under has room for it, so a month never goes past the limits you set.
Free allowances cost nothing and use none of a limit. When a limit is reached, paid work stops until you raise it or the next month starts.
Every price on this page excludes VAT. VAT, or another tax where one applies, is calculated on each invoice from your billing details and shown on its own line.
Usage is settled after each UTC calendar month closes. One invoice covers every product on the account, with a line for each month and meter.
Each month keeps its own statement: the quantities, the free allowance, the bands and the rates in force when the month began.
The card is charged only when the account's uncollected balance, before VAT, is at least £5.00. Then the whole balance is collected with its tax in one payment.
Below £5.00, the balance carries forward to the next month and the card is not charged. A carried balance is not overdue, and it is never raised to £5.00: this is a threshold for collecting, not a minimum fee.
Going past £5.00 during a month charges nothing. Money is only collected when a month is settled.
New paid work stops at once, and free allowances keep working. The payment is retried. At the next settlement an invoice that is still unpaid is cancelled, and its balance is collected with the new month in one payment, so nothing is charged twice.
Rates change only from the start of a month, and are published here with notice before they apply. A month is always priced by the rates in force when it began.

A unit is counted when its result is delivered. These rules apply to every product.
